Michael is a production designer and filmmaker whose most recent credits include COMPUTER CHESS, NATURAL SELECTION (2011) and MY NAME IS JERRY (2010). These and other film works have been featured at SXSW, the Heartland Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Film Festival. NATURAL SELECTION won the 2011 Grand Jury Prize at SXSW.

Additionally, Michael is the co-founder and executive director of PEOPLE FOR URBAN PROGRESS (www.peopleup.org), an Indianapolis-based non-profit and urban design do-tank. PUP focuses on projects that enhance the urban quality of life in Indianapolis, particularly in the areas of transit, environment, and design.

Michael earned his Master in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, where he taught production design at the University of Texas Film Institute. Also while at UT, Michael worked with Professor Smilja Milovanovich-Bertram on the book and accompanying exhibition, ROME SOJOURN: FOUR ARCHITECTS, which explored the relationship between architects and travel. 

In addition to his film and non-profit work, Michael has served as a a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art at Wabash College and an Assistant Instructor at the University of Texas at Austin. He splits his time between Indianapolis and Austin.
